What is a homecoming mum?

A wearable keepsake built around a silk chrysanthemum, decorated with ribbons, braids, bells, and charms that show off school spirit and your student's personality. In Texas, it's a full-blown tradition. Girls traditionally wear mums around the neck; guys wear a smaller version, called a garter, on the upper arm.

Who gives a mum, and who gives a garter?

Traditionally, a boy gives his date a mum and she gives him a garter. Today, anything goes. Friends exchange them, parents gift them, and plenty of students order their own. No date required, ever.

When do they wear them?

Homecoming Friday; Mums are worn to school, pep rally, and the football game. They're usually too big for the dance itself, but they can make the pre-dance photos. Seniors will also add them to their graduation tables to show off that school spirit.

What do the colors mean?

Underclassmen wear their school colors. Seniors traditionally wear white, silver or gold, or a specialty color to mark their final homecoming. If your student is a senior, tell us, and we'll build accordingly.

Do I really need to order this far in advance?

Yes. Every custom mum maker in North Texas, including us, caps how many orders we accept per season. We build one at a time by hand. Order 6 to 8 weeks before your school's homecoming date, and earlier if your student is a senior.

What schools do you serve?

Families across Argyle ISD, Northwest ISD (Northwest, Byron Nelson, and Eaton), Liberty Christian, Flower Mound area schools, and Guyer. If your school isn't listed, text us at 972-567-8474 and ask. We most likely still can help you out!

Choosing Your Mum or Garter

What is the difference between La Classic, La Grande, and La Luxe Belle?

La Classic Belle (starts at $110) is beautiful simplicity: a single-flower mum with our signature handmade braids, name loops, and custom trinkets. Add flowers for $25 each.
La Grande Belle ($180) is a fuller statement piece with garland and extra length.
La Luxe Belle (starts at $150) brings luxury materials, specialty themes, and flower-by-flower customization at $50 per added flower.
La Luxe Belle Sash ($400) is our full custom sash creation. Extremely limited slots each season.

What about garters for the guys?

Le Classic Beau ($50): school colors, core braids, name loop, comfortable band.
Le Grand Beau ($75): added braids, garland accents, and custom trinkets.
Le Elite Beau ($110): fully custom themes, premium details, and senior options.

Which one should I order?

Freshmen usually love La Classic Belle or Le Classic Beau.
Sophomores & Juniors go with La Classic or Luxe Belle plus added flowers or La Grande Belle. Seniors, this is your year: La Luxe Belle, the Sash, or Le Elite Beau.
Still unsure? Text us. We do this all day and we're happy to help you choose.

Can I customize the design?

That's the whole point. School colors, your student's name, year, sport, club, instrument, mascot, inside jokes. After you reserve, we send a questionnaire that walks you through every detail.

Do you make DIY kits or sell supplies?

Yes. Our Belle by You and Beau by You kits include the flower, ribbons in your school colors, braid materials, trinkets, and step-by-step instructions. We also sell braids and loops à la carte and stock mum supplies during peak season. See our Creative Luxuries page.

Can you refresh a mum we already have?

We can. Our Mum Fresh Up service updates the ribbons, replaces tired trims, and refreshes the name and year on a mum from last season, a big sister, or even Mom's. Tradition, continued.

Ordering & Deadlines

How do I place an order?

Start with a deposit through our Order page. That reserves your spot on the calendar. Within 48 hours we'll send your design questionnaire, where you tell us every detail. Your balance is due by your customization deadline.

What does the deposit cover?

The deposit reserves your spot and is applied to your final total.

When is the ordering deadline?

Standard orders close one week prior to your school's homecoming date. Rush orders may be available depending on our calendar, so text us and ask.

Do you take rush orders?

Sometimes, depending on how full the season is. Text 972-567-8474 and we'll tell you honestly whether we can do it.

What is your cancellation and refund policy?

Cancellations must be made within 48 hours of purchase to receive a full refund. After 48 hours, no refunds or cancellations are available, as production begins shortly after ordering. Refunds will not be issued for dissatisfaction with design choices once approved or delivered.

How do I pay?

We accept payments using all major credit cards as well as Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Venmo and Cash.

How do I receive my mum?

Local pickup in Denton County the week of homecoming. We'll text you when yours is ready.

Care & Keepsakes

How do I store a mum after homecoming?

Hang it rather than folding it, keep it out of direct sunlight, and store it somewhere dry. Ribbons crease permanently if a mum sits under something heavy.

Can a mum be reused next year?

Absolutely, and we encourage it. Bring it to us for a Mum Fresh Up and we'll update the name, year, and trims so it's ready for another season.
